So... that's my opinion... What is yours?It is not that hard to take a look at stats of a player even without the third party ratings to see if he is OK or not for your clan.And lets be honest, WTR while giving some indication is far from being "perfect" as it does not include some very important aspects such as defended caps, caps won...WTR is based on your performance vs the average.
Personal Rating is a scale created by Wargaming.net to evaluate player performance. The per-tank ratings are significantly harder to develop (getting good data) and apply (requirea lot more computation power) but the results control for the tank composition of an account history in a way that dmg/tier method ratings can never duplicate.

They do make a game more serious and competitive but I think thats a large part of why WoT has done so well.
