The global financial meltdown, at a cost of over $20 trillion, resulted in millions of people losing their homes and jobs. Interviewing both those who spoke out against such recklessness and those who committed the deeds, this film bravely challenges accepted norms that were - and still are - held by the banking sector. It is all truly quite easy to understand.

Everyone should watch this eye-opening documentary to refresh their memory as to how the 2008 financial meltdown occurred. Old boys clubs and rich will look after the rich is so true. This documentary exposes the miss-selling and re-selling of debt as unregulated collaterized debt obligations (CDOs) and the way they undermined our economy. Surprisingly, again and again some interviewees act as if they were innocent and had nothing to do with the cause of the collapse despite the evidence showing they lobbied for de-regulation and subsequently exploited it with disastrous effects. From a personal perspective I also have first hand experience of how easy it was to secure finance from the banks pre credit crunch!

My blood curdles with uncontrollable rage when I watch this very well researched and exceptionally informative documentary on the root causes of the global financial crisis, that destroyed millions of lives and brought nation after nation to economic ruin, and which continues to do even more so five years after it all started.A Must See for every adult: the global financial crisis is part of history and will be forgotten at mankind's peril. "Inside Job" is a chain of interviews with some of the world's leading financial "experts" (I have to put the inverted marks here, sorry - watch the film and you will know why) and the beautiful cinematography.

Some might state that this is just left-wing liberal nonsense, however, the content is well-research and stands up against scrutiny, and shows how capitalism needs regulations to curb its excesses and prevent bubbles (such as those depicted of the housing market). As we live with the effects of the disaster over the next few years it is worth remembering that all the chief architects, Greenspan, Summers, and Paulson assured everyone that all was well, risk had been diminished and there was 'no return to boom and bust' while at the same time Goldman Sachs were hedging their products and betting they would fail. As usual politicians weak say all the right things to get elected then oh it's too difficult to do how a bloke who resigns due to the fiasco and gets a very golden hand shake of £161 million is unbelievable and people don't see anything wrong in what they did.
I would like to see the raw footage and see how the entire interview went, and what led up to some of them showing nervousness or anger (or a smug smile). Watch all you want for free. It is not beyond the layperson to grasp what went wrong with the US economy, in spite of all the fancy terms like CDO and CDS. Genre: ... Knowing that this is a biased documentary, it was still enjoyable and informative. Unfortunately, and as pointed out by Inside Job, little was done to address the underlining issues that triggered the collapse, and in fact things are arguably even worse today.

Given that the bank bail-outs were the biggest acts of socialism ever seen in the World in terms of absolute value, this film actually fights against the current governmental attitude of socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor. I am posting this review on top of all the others to assert one thing; this stuff is easy to understand.
