Charmed has never looked more crisper than this HD blu ray release of the first season.

I love Charmed. I haven't had a chance to watch it all - only the first disc (the first five episodes). But I still highly recommend this!
Avg. I missed the series when it was originally shown, but this series has kept me going during a recent period of illness.
Normally the release of a fullscreen show on BluRay, has black bars on the left and right side of the screen, preserving the original aspect ratio of the picture.
I love this box set! All I'll say is that this is a must-watch and I'll be eagerly awaiting season 2 and future blu ray releases. Hope they can release the rest of S2-8 in a timely manner. The disc menu is a vast improvement over what we had with the DVD sets; a montage of live scenes from the series with music (oddly the alternate theme of the series) behind an episode guide. I turned around and purchased the blu-ray version which should be here tomorrow. The truth is that I love Shannen Doherty so much that once she left the show I lost interest, the show was so much better with her on it, she is an amazing actress.
The picture is fantastic with extra details being noticeable and the surround sound is more open and involving. The picture quality is amazing, nice layer of grain, no DNR( Digital Noise Reduction, basically means they blur the image to look silky smooth with no detail).

This is a review on the quality of the blu ray which was released 12th November 2018. Nowadays, urban fantasy comes dime a dozen on the telly. The best part for me is the new 16:9 framing which was by large done by opening up the 4:3 frame to reveal more on the sides. The model takes into account factors including the age of a rating, whether the ratings are from verified purchasers, and factors that establish reviewer trustworthiness.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. A show about witches for sure, but a show about sisterhood. HOWEVER, on this release they just dragged in (zoomed in) the 4:3 picture so that the left and right sides filled the wide TV format, effectively cutting off the legs and tops of the heads in every scene. No special features of commentary, not sure if they were on the DVD but I didn't really miss them.

Buffy popularized it, with Charmed hot on its heels, then Angel, True Blood, Supernatural, Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, The Dresden Files, and so on. The show has been remastered in HD, the best it can look. Finally, the "Charmed" television series gets the high definition treatment that it has long deserved.
The 1st season has so much heart, and quickly established the bond of the 3 sisters within the first 2 episodes. Also I think that on the first seasons there were more mix of real life and magic life, whilst on the last ones was more about magic and the magic world in general.
